HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Morehead State men's basketball team wraps up a stretch of 11 games in 26 days on Wednesday when it visits Conference USA foe Southern Mississippi. Tip-off from Green Coliseum is set for 8 p.m. ET.
The Eagles, who have won three of their last four games, are 7-3 overall and 3-2 on the road. The Golden Eagles, who are 2-0 at home, opened the campaign with six straight victories before losing on Nov. 29 at No. 9/9 Louisville.
Morehead State owns a 5-3 advantage in the all-time series against Southern Mississippi, which dates back to the 1950-51 season. The Golden Eagles registered a 94-58 victory over the Eagles last season at Johnson Arena.
Sean Woods, a Kentucky Athletic Hall of Famer who piloted Mississippi Valley State to the NCAA Tournament in 2012, is in his second season as the head coach at Morehead State and his sixth year as a Division I bench boss.
Donnie Tyndall, a 1993 MSU graduate who led his alma mater to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2011, is in his second year as the head coach at Southern Mississippi and eighth campaign leading a D-I program.

Morehead State is playing eight of its first 11 games away from Johnson Arena in 2013-14. During their recent 10-day West Coast swing, the Eagles traveled 4,361 miles by plane and 1,246 miles by bus. MSU visits Southern Mississippi on Wednesday.
IMPROVING ON THE ROAD
Morehead State has already registered three road wins this season (3-2), which is just one from equaling last year's total (4-12). The Eagles have 10 true road games left. MSU has averaged 5.8 road victories over the previous five campaigns.
LET'S DO A COMPARISON
Morehead State won its third road contest this season on Nov. 24. The Eagles didn't claim their third road victory until Jan. 19 last year and Jan. 24 two campaigns ago. MSU is shooting for its first .500 road record since going 8-8 in 2010-11.
WE FINALLY GET A BREAK?
Morehead State will have 10 days off for semester finals after Wednesday's contest at Southern Mississippi. The Eagles will continue to practice, but their next game is not until Dec. 15 when Bowling Green visits Johnson Arena at 2 p.m. ET.

Morehead State has managed advantages of 392-307 in total rebounds (+8.5 pg), 155-93 in offensive rebounds (+6.2 pg) and 158-89 in second-chance points (+6.9 pg). The Eagles have not been outrebounded in 10 contests this season. MSU also leads the Ohio Valley Conference in rebounding margin.

Senior Chad Posthumus ranks third in the nation with 12.5 rebounds per game. The center owns five double-doubles this season and has reached the 10-board plateau in seven of his last eight contests. He is also averaging 11.0 points and shooting 52 percent from the field.
AN EAGLE WHO DOES IT ALL
Junior Angelo Warner led Morehead State with 19 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals on Monday against Wright State. The assists total matched his career high. He also knocked down 9-of-11 from the free-throw line, where he is shooting 79 percent this year.
HOT-HANDED BILLY
Junior Billy Reader has averaged 15.7 points on 76 percent (22-of-29) from the floor over the past three games. The stretch includes 21 points against Chattanooga, 12 versus Gardner-Webb and 14 against Wright State. The center's productivity has picked up significantly after averaging just 4.4 points on 46 percent (13-of-28) over the first seven contests this season.
THE ASSIST MAN CAN
Junior Kareem Storey ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 5.5 assists per game and ninth with a 1.6-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. The guard has collected 55 of Morehead State's 135 helpers in 2013-14. He has already posted five assists on five occasions.
