MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men's basketball team continues Ohio Valley Conference action on Saturday when it entertains rival Eastern Kentucky. Tip-off from Johnson Arena is set for approximately 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Eagles are 11-13 overall, 5-5 in league play and 8-3 at home. The Colonels are 18-6 on the campaign, 7-3 in conference action and 6-5 on the road. It will be the 180th meeting between MSU and EKU in men's hoops.
The contest will follow a Morehead State vs. Eastern Kentucky women's match-up at 5:15 p.m. Adult tickets for the doubleheader start at just $8 and will be available at the door. Parking next to the arena is just $5 per vehicle.
The first 500 fans will receive blue t-shirts from St. Claire Regional Medical Center to support “Beat EKU Blue.” MSU students, with their student ID, will also have a chance to win one of two iPad minis courtesy of the Office of Student Life.
Several MSU student-athletes will be honored at halftime. The academic recognition includes members of the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Pioneer Football League Honor Roll and Academic Medal of Honor recipients.

THE LAST TIME OUT
Jacksonville State drilled a season-high 66 percent from the field, including 74 percent in the first half, en route to a 70-59 win over Morehead State last Saturday at Mathews Coliseum. The Eagles slipped to 11-13 overall, 5-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 3-10 on the road.
ANOTHER CRACK AT EKU
Eastern Kentucky used a 23-1 run over a nine-minute span on Jan. 12 at McBrayer Arena to post a 59-52 victory over Morehead State. The Eagles trailed by a game-high 20 with six minutes remaining in the second half before outscoring the Colonels 20-7 the rest of the way.
SUCCESS AT JOHNSON ARENA
Morehead State has won 84 percent (58-11) of its games at Johnson Arena over the past five seasons, including 90 percent (35-4) in Ohio Valley Conference play.
IT’S ALWAYS GOOD TO BE HOME
Morehead State begins a four-game homestand on Saturday vs. Eastern Kentucky. The Eagles will also square off with Jacksonville State (Feb. 14), Tennessee Tech (Feb. 16) and Murray State (Feb. 20) during the stretch.

Freshman Jourdan Stickler, who hadn’t scored in the team’s first nine Ohio Valley Conference games, poured in a career-best 12 points last Saturday at Jacksonville State. He is averaging 3.1 points in eight affairs and 88 minutes this year.
GOING TO THE GLASS
Morehead State posted a 37-15 rebounding advantage at Jacksonville State, including a 15-1 edge on the offensive glass. Over the past 11 games, the Eagles are +130 in total boards, +78 in offensive caroms and +73 in second-chance points.
A REALLY STRONG BENCH
Morehead State has tallied a 698 (29.1) to 357 (14.9) advantage in bench points this year. The Eagle reserves have also outscored their foes in 21 of 24 games. MSU collected just 749 bench points (22.7) all of last season.
OVC TEAM RANKINGS
Morehead State ranks in the Ohio Valley Conference’s top three for rebounds (1st, 37.3), offensive boards (1st, 14.3), rebounding margin (1st, +6.2), steals (2nd, 9.6) and assists (3rd, 14.8). The Eagles also place third in total attendance average (4,272).
HIGH NUMBERS BOTH WAYS
Morehead State ranks first in the Ohio Valley Conference in turnovers forced (17.9), but also places last in miscues committed (17.4). The Eagles have collected a 492 (20.5) to 424 (17.7) advantage in points off turnovers this season.
THE FOUL BUG IS BACK
Morehead State leads the nation with 24.6 fouls per game. The Eagles have been whistled for 171 more infractions than their opponents this season. MSU has committed 30-or-more fouls on six occasions, including 31 last week at Belmont.
