Softball Set for Camel Stampede Tournament

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State softball team will travel to North Carolina for a five game road swing.

On Thursday, the 2-5 Eagles will play a single game with Charlotte (8-5), which was a recent schedule addition, at 2 p.m. ET. MSU will continue on to Buies Creek for the Camel Stampede Tournament.

Northern Kentucky (4-10), Drexel (5-10), Campbell (9-7) and Norfolk State (4-6) highlight MSU’s schedule in the tournament. Friday’s match-ups include a 10 a.m. ET start time with NKU, followed by a 12:30 p.m. tilt with DU. Campbell will host the Eagles on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. before the evening finishes with an 8:30 p.m. contest with NSU.

Live stats will be available for all five contests, while the Charlotte match-up features live video and the Campbell game will have live audio courtesy of CU athletics.

GAME NOTES
• The Eagles’ contests at East Tennessee State last weekend were cancelled due to inclement weather.
 
• MSU went 1-2 on Feb. 23 and 24 at the Seahawk Clash in Wilmington, N.C., with a victory over Maryland - Baltimore County and losses to Gardner - Webb and UMBC in the rematch.
 
• Senior Amber Riddle hammered her 29th career home run in the 7-1 victory over UMBC on Feb. 23 to bring her one closer to the career mark of 30. She also holds the career walks record (86), and has five RBI on the young season, which moves her career total to 106. The total ranks second all-time, only trailing Rebecca Butler (132).
 
• Four Eagles hit above .400 at the Seahawk Clash. Senior Elizabeth Wagner (.556) led MSU, while fellow seniors Adrena Anderson (.500), Amber Riddle (.429) and Kayla Ashbrook (.417) also fell into that category.
 
• MSU was narrowly outhit, 27-23, in Wilmington, but has the slight edge over all opponents this season, 52-50.
 
• Junior Kelcey McMurray made two appearances in the circle at the Seahawk Clash and registered a 1.00 earned run average. She picked up the save in the win over UMBC.
 
• Senior pitcher Katie Pfost leads the Eagles in appearances this season. In six appearances, she posts a 2-2 record with a 3.12 ERA, which includes a pair of complete games.
 
• In the all-time series, MSU leads NKU 18-11-1 and trails both Drexel and Campbell, 1-0. It will be the first match-up against Norfolk State.
