Eagle Softball to Host Belmont in Three-Game Series

MOREHEAD, Ky.
– The Morehead State softball team returns to University Field this weekend for a three-game series with Ohio Valley Conference opponent Belmont.

First pitch of the Saturday doubleheader is slated for 11 a.m. ET, while Sunday’s single game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Live stats for all contests can be found at MSUEagles.com.

Sunday will also serve as Senior Day for seven Eagle student-athletes. Adrena Anderson, Kayla Ashbrook, Katie Pfost, Amber Riddle, Anna Sommer, Liz Wagner and Sam Woodall will be honored prior to Sunday’s first pitch.

GAME NOTES

• MSU is coming off a 2-2 Ohio Valley Conference road weekend. The Eagles split with both UT Martin and Southeast Missouri.
 
• Senior Amber Riddle has reached base in 19 straight games, dating back to the Tennessee State series on March 30.
 
• The 2013 senior class has combined for 888 hits, 445 RBI and 69 home runs during their time with the Eagles.
 
• Eight Eagles currently post a batting average over .300. Senior Liz Wagner tops the list with a .400 average, while Amber Riddle is hitting .394.
 
• Senior Katie Pfost has 148 strikeouts this season, which places her third on the single-season list.
 
• The Eagles are 7-6 at University Field, while the Bruins are 5-9 on the road.
 
• MSU is currently sitting fourth in the OVC eastern division and eighth overall, while the Bruins are sixth in the east division and 12th overall.
 
• The Eagles are 2-4 all-time against Belmont.
