Australian Native Jack Swindells Joins Men’s Tennis Team

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Jack Swindells, a highly-ranked Australian player, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Morehead State men’s tennis program. He will have four seasons of collegiate eligibility beginning in 2013-14.

Swindells, a native of Towradgi, Australia, ranked as high as 93rd in the men’s open division in his native country. According to MSU Head Coach Kevin Fulton, Swindells’ Australian ranking is the equivalent of a top-25 spot in the United States. Towradgi is approximately 50 miles from the major city of Sydney.

“Jack is a tremendous talent and an exceptional young man,” Fulton said. “We are very happy to have him join the program and help us reach our goals next year. Jack has a lot of potential, and I truly believe he can come in and challenge for a spot at or near the top of our lineup immediately. I am excited to see him grow as a player.”

Swindells won the 2011 Shoalhaven Open, his first title, and also claimed the runner-up honor at the Napeon Open Gold event. He was coached at the Fernhill Tennis Club by his father William.
