EAGLE NOTES

No Runs Allowed
While going 3-0 in the circle last week, junior pitcher Tanna Seuferer did not allow an earned run for 20 innings. After surrendering three runs in the first inning in a 4-3 triumph at Dayton, Seuferer did not allow an earned run in a 3-2 win over Austin Peay. The Chariton, Iowa, native followed that by tossing MSU's first shutout of the season in the 1-0 victory over Murray State.

Successful Stephanie
In 11 Morehead State victories, senior second baseman Stephanie Etter is batting .333. In MSU victories, the North Lawrence, Ohio, native has three of her six doubles and six of her nine RBI. Etter drove in what proved to be the winning runs with a two-run single in the 3-2 victory over Austin Peay.

Captain Clutch
In the 1-0 victory over Murray State, freshman designated player Karly Thompson singled up the middle in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Eagles their third straight victory. It was the first walk-off win, and first shutout of the season for MSU.

We Like Them Close
Morehead State has played nine contests decided by one run. The Eagles are 7-2 in those contests. SIU Edwardsville defeated MSU 5-4 on April 5, before Dayton held off a late rally to top the Eagles 5-4 on April 16.

Isn't It Grand
In the 12-8 setback versus Butler, senior catcher McKenna Bartko blasted her first career grand slam. It was the fifth career home run for the Murrieta, Calif., native, and the first time one of her round-trippers came with a runner on base. She has reached base safely in a team-best five straight contests.

Extra Extra
Of the 227 hits collected by Morehead State, 70 (30 percent) have been for extra bases. The Eagles have 42 doubles, six triples and 22 home runs.

Preseason Picks
MSU was picked to finish fourth in the OVC East Division in a poll of the league's coaches and sports information directors. The Eagles finished fourth in the division with a 10-14 mark last season. Jacksonville State was selected to win the east, while SIU Edwardsville was picked to take the west.
