Ten notes heading into the matches:

REVIEWING LAST WEEK
Morehead State dropped decisions to Tennessee State and Belmont in its first weekend of Ohio Valley Conference play.  The Eagles had previously won eight straight league openers.

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME
Morehead State has started Ohio Valley Conference play with back-to-back losses for the first time since 1994.  The Eagles started league play 0-3 that year, but finished 12-4.

UNCHARTED TERRITORY
Morehead State, the four-time defending Ohio Valley Conference champion, is off to its first 0-15 start in school history.  The Eagles started their varsity volleyball program in 1972, and the conference began sponsoring the sport in 1981.

TIME TO LOOK AHEAD
Morehead State continues Ohio Valley Conference play with two matches this week.  The Eagles host Eastern Kentucky (12-6, 2-0) on Wednesday and visit Austin Peay (8-10, 2-0) on Saturday.

LEADING THE EAGLES
Junior Hannah Sigala leads Morehead State with 3.07 points and 2.47 kills per set.  The middle blocker is also hitting a team-best .257 in 53 sets played, while ranking second with 0.74 blocks per stanza.  She collected a team-best 119 blocks and 198 kills in 2013.

WE ARE THE HUNTED AGAIN
Morehead State was selected No. 1 in the annual Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll.  All three of MSU's seniors also landed spots on the 14-player Preseason All-OVC Team, which is voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

LEADING THE WAY
Jaime Gordon is in his 12th year as Morehead State's head coach.  He is 228-146 (.610) at MSU and 308-173 (.640) in 14 years leading a collegiate program.  Gordon has piloted the Eagles to seven regular-season conference titles, two league tournament crowns and both of the school's NCAA Tournament berths.

DOMINATING THE CIRCUIT
Morehead State is 0-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play, but went 67-3 in league matches over the last four years.  No other Division I program won 96 percent of its league tilts during that stretch.

DOING IT IN THE LEAGUE
Morehead State would tie an Ohio Valley Conference all-time record if it wins the 2014 regular-season crown.  Southeast Missouri is the only school in league history to win five straight.

BEST IN THE NATION
Morehead State won 36 consecutive Ohio Valley Conference regular-season matches from 2011 through 2013.  The nation's longest streak was just one shy of the all-time league standard.
