MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Morehead State women's basketball team continues its five-game road stretch with game number three against the West Virginia Mountaineers at WVU Coliseum on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.
The Eagles (3-4) are coming off back-to-back losses to Chicago State and Miami (Ohio). Both contests were decided by four points or less and came down to the final possession.  
West Virginia (4-2) enters the contest with back-to-back wins against Grand Canyon (Ariz.) and Yale. Both victories were decided by double digits. The Mountaineers were led in scoring by two-time All-Big 12 First-Teamer senior guard Bria Holmes, dropping 14 points against Grand Canyon and 18 versus Yale.
The contest will air live online on Mountaineers TV. It will also broadcast on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with Jason Blanton calling all of the action. The radio network includes WKCA-107.7. SCORE, SCORE, AND SCORE AGAINThe Eagles are ranked fifth in the nation in scoring offense with 89 points per game. Six players on the roster are currently averaging double digit points per contest.
 
STEELE LEADS THE WAYDuring a three-games-in-six-days stretch (Nov 23-29), junior forward 
Shay Steele led MSU in scoring all three games, accumulating 51 points and a high of 21 against Mount St. Joseph.
 
OVC HONORS IN BACK-TO-BACK WEEKSFollowing her strong showing against No. 13 Kentucky with 14 points and eight rebounds, freshman guard 
Miranda Crockett recorded her first career triple-double against Georgia State, accumulating 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. As a result she earned OVC Freshman of the Week honors for the second straight week.
 
SWIPE AND GOMorehead State ranks third in the country with 14.4 steals per game. Sophomore forward
 Eriel McKee leads the nation with 5.0 steals per game. 
Crockett ranks second on the team with 3.6 per game, ranking her ninth in the nation.
 
GATHER AROUND FOR AN EAGLE BLOCK PARTYThe Eagles are ranked first in the nation with 7.9 blocks per game.
 Steele is first on the team with 2.6 blocks per game and has recorded a season high six blocks on two occasions. MSU tied a school record and an OVC record when it rejected 16 shots versus Mount St. Joseph.
 
CRASHING THE BOARDSThe Eagles rank ninth in the country with 19 offensive rebounds per game. 
Crockett currently leads the team in offensive rebounds with 29 on the season, good for 4.14 per game.
 
PREVIEWING THE MATCHUP WITH WEST VIRGINIAWednesday's matchup against the Mountaineers will be the first time the two programs have met. WVU is averaging 72.5 pointS per game in 2015 and are led by senior guard 
Bria Holmes averaging 18.3 pointS per game. Holmes was a unanimous All-Big 12 First-Team pick the past two seasons and was named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team in 2012-13. Junior center 
Lanay Montgomery ranks fourth in the country with 3.50 blocks per game.
