MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Tuesday's 2016 homecoming pep rally gave fans a chance to experience a unique perspective of many different Morehead State student-athletes. The two-hour event was highlighted by coaches and players taking turns on the microphone, skills challenges involving both athletes and fans, as well as music, food, and free giveaways.
First, the Eagles football team was introduced. Head coach
Rob Tenyer opened the conversation, before passing the mic to several of his senior football players. Then, the dance team preceded the cheerleading squad in a routine that ignited the packed crowd.
Next, the Morehead State men's and women's basketball teams were introduced, along with the coaching staffs, including head coaches
Greg Todd and
Sean Woods. Both teams performed separate dance routines, and concluded the athletic portion of the night with skills challenges involving fans and players.
Football returns home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game with Marist. Women's basketball opens its season on Nov. 3 with an exhibition game versus Transylvania (Ky.) at Johnson Arena, while men's basketball welcomes Cincinnati Christian for its exhibition opener on Nov. 6.
