MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Morehead State men's basketball team closes the regular season with road games against Tennessee Tech on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Currently tied for fifth place in the OVC Standings, MSU could increase their OVC Tournament seed significantly with a pair of wins.

The Eagles enter the contests at 16-11 overall and 9-5 in the OVC. TTU is 19-8 and a game ahead of MSU in the OVC race at 10-4, while JSU is 8-21 and 4-10 in league play.

Winners of four straight games, MSU has tied its longest winning streak of the season. They also won four straight from Nov. 21 to Dec. 2. MSU has not won five straight games since the end of the 2014-15 season when they won their final three regular season games and the first two of the OVC Tournament prior to falling to Murray State, 80-77, in the semifinals.

Morehead State enters Thursday's contest, looking for their 17th win of the year. A season ago, they finished the season at 17-17 and didn't claim their 17th win until the second round of the OVC Tournament.

The Eagles have a +5.8 rebounding advantage on the season, which ranks first in the OVC, and ranks 36th in the country. The Eagles are 0-5 when being outrebounded. In 15 of 27 games, they have outrebounded their opponent by five or more rebounds and they are 12-3 in those games.

Forty percent of their rebounds are of the offensive variety, good for 14.9 per game, which ranks first in the OVC and fourth in the country. MSU is giving up just 31.2 defensive rebounds per game, which leads the OVC. They are averaging 14.7 second chance points per game and during their four-game winning streak have outscored EKU (21-3), Belmont (28-10), SSC (17-6), TSU (14-7) on second chance points.

The Eagles are 12-2 at home and 4-9 on the road. They are averaging 76.1 points, while giving up just 63.3 at home. On the road, they are scoring 67.8 per game, while allowing 70.7. They are outrebounding opponents by 10.1 at home and 1.2 on the road.

In late January, the Eagles hosted Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State in back-to-back games, downing the Golden Eagles, 81-74, before falling to Jacksonville State, 78-74.

Morehead State leads the all-time series against Tennessee Tech, 81-64. The Eagles have won four straight overall and have not lost in Cookeville since 2013. The two teams first met in 1950, as MSU won, 59-57.

The game will air on the OVC Digital Network and will be broadcast on the Eagle Sports Radio Network with Chuck Mraz and Jason Blanton calling all of the action. The radio network includes WIVY-96.3 FM and several affiliates throughout eastern Kentucky. A live audio stream can be found on MSUEagles.com and the Eagle Empire app.
