Sunjevaric picks up OVC win, but Men's Tennis falls, 5-2

RICHMOND, Ky.—Morehead State men's tennis lost 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon against Eastern Kentucky at Tom Higgins Courts.
 
The Eagles (5-10, 4-3) ended their stretch of six straight road matches losing their last three contests to Ohio Valley Conference members. The Colonels (16-11, 5-2) picked up their fourth win in their last five matches.
 
Freshman Ognjen Sunjevaric collected his first career win against an OVC competitor, battling with Florian Graskamp in three sets. Sunjevaric won the first set, 6-3, dropped the second set, 6-2, and rallied in the third set for a 7-6 win.
 
Senior Gabriel Ruiz and junior Ritchie Kruunenberg picked up another OVC doubles victory and remain undefeated as a tandem in the conference.
 
Sunjervaric paired up with sophomore Sabastian Penaloza and defeated the team of Diogo Soares and Ramon van Flymen.
 
Morehead State will have a nine-day break before they wrap up the season at Sadler Courts against SIU Edwardsville (Apr. 15) and Eastern Illinois (Apr. 16).
