MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Abby Jump, a Union, Ky., native, has been named an assistant coach for the Morehead State women's basketball program.
Jump comes to Morehead State after spending last season as the Director of Women's Basketball Operations at Bucknell University where she was responsible for creating weekly schedules, sending out recruiting mailers, arranging team travel, and coordinating the team's community service efforts.
"For a young coach, Abby brings a lot of Division I experience," said head coach
Greg Todd. "She played four years for a great program at Wright State. Last year, she was an assistant at Bucknell at times when they did not have a full staff. She is well connected in the Cincinnati area."
Prior to her year with the Bison, Jump played four years at Wright State under former Morehead State women's basketball head coach Mike Bradbury. During her stint at WSU, the Raiders accumulated an 84-49 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament her junior season.
As a junior and senior, she ranked first in the Horizon League in three-point percentage. She shot 46 percent from three-point land and tied for 12th in the league in three-pointers made with 25 her senior year.Â
"I would like to thank Coach Todd for the tremendous opportunity to join his staff and the women's basketball program," said Jump. "Being from Kentucky, it's a great honor to be a part of the Eagle family, one that is filled with such rich traditions in academics and athletics. I am looking forward to the great things ahead for this team and program."
Jump graduated from Wright State with a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership in 2014. She played high school basketball at Ryle, and at the time of graduation, ranked fifth all-time in Kentucky with 81 three-pointers made.
