MOREHEAD, Ky. – Despite leading its opponent in kills, assists, and team blocks, Morehead State volleyball fell to Belmont in four sets on Saturday afternoon at Wetherby Gym.

The Eagles drop to 12-13 on the season, managing a 3-9 record in the Ohio Valley Conference. Belmont advances to 12-12 (7-5 OVC).

"Belmont's a really good, balanced team," said MSU head coach Jaime Gordon. "They've got a lot of good senior leadership, which showed."

The Eagles scored over 20 points in every set but the third, hitting .271 on the match. The Bruins claimed the opening set 25-22, but ignited a fire under Morehead State in the second. The Eagles bounced back for a 25-21 win, holding Belmont to a .250 hitting percentage, its lowest of the contest.

Morehead State came out flat in the third, however, dropping a 25-18 decision and never regaining its momentum from the set before. Belmont won the final set by a score of 25-21.

The Eagles were led once again by the frontline of Lauren Rokey, Olivia Lohmeier, and Jordan Jones. Rokey notched a team-best 15 kills and nine digs, hitting .367 on the day. Lohmeier followed closely behind with 14 kills and a .407 hitting percentage, while Jones tallied 12 kills and a team-high 28 assists.

As a team, Morehead State led Belmont in kills, 55-53. The Eagles also led 53-52 in assists, and produced 6.0 team blocks to the Bruins' 5.0.

Morehead State returns to the court next weekend, taking part in its last road trip of the 2017 season. The Eagles battle Tennessee Tech (3-21, 1-11 OVC) on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. Morehead State lost to Tennessee Tech in four sets on Sept. 30.
