Rifle Adds Katie Frye to 2018-19 Roster
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Katie Frye, an accomplished markswoman from Pennsylvania, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Morehead State Rifle program. Frye will begin her collegiate career during the 2018-19 season.

Frye is from Greensburg, Pa., and attends Derry Area High School. She started shooting when she was eight with sporter air rifle through the local 4-H club. At age 12 she began shooting .22 caliber sporter rifle through 4-H and the Hannastown Rod and Gun Club.

In 2014 she began competing at higher-level matches, including the national matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. She is a member of the Jerome Sportsmen's Association Junior Rifle Club from Hollsopple, Pa., and just recently competed in the Eagle Open at MSU.

Frye has competed in Colorado Springs, Colo., in the Junior Olympics in both smallbore and air rifle, the USA Shooting National Championships at Fort Benning, Ga., and the 3-P Air Rifle National Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio.

Academically, Frye is an honor student, and has been a member of Future Farmer's of America throughout her high school career. She is also an active member of 4-H. Frye has won her Greenhand Degree and Chapter Degree and received the Academic Excellence Award in 4-H in her sophomore and junior years of high school.
