GAME NOTES
CHICAGO – Coming off its first road tilt of 2017-18 in last Wednesday's loss at No. 22 Kentucky, Morehead State women's basketball (2-3) hit the highway on its first overnight road trip of the season for a matchup with Chicago State (0-5) on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
The Eagles are anchored on the year by senior forward
Eriel McKee, who leads the team in points (14.0 per game), steals (3.2), and minutes (32.2), while pulling down a second-best 7.8 rebounds per game. Junior center Tierra McGowan leads Morehead State on the glass with 14.4 boards a contest.
GAME NOTES
GRUDGE MATCH
Morehead State and Chicago State are notched at 1-1 in the all-time head-to-head series. The Cougars won the rst meeting 75-71 in Chicago in 2015-16, while the Eagles claimed a 63-55 contest in Morehead last season.
STRETCH OF SETBACKS
With a 0-29 record in 2016-17 and a 0-5 record to begin this season, Chicago State has not tasted victory since a 57-49 win over Seattle on Feb. 4, 2016.
REBOUND STATE
Tierra McGowan recorded double-digit rebounds for the fth consecutive game in last Wednesday's loss at No. 22 Kentucky. McGowan ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division I in rebounds per game (14.4) and o ensive rebounds per game (8.0), and No. 4 in total rebounds (72). As a team, Morehead State ranks No. 2 in NCAA Division I in rebounds per game (54.0), No. 3 in offensive rebounds per game (29.0), No. 5 in total rebounds (270), and No. 7 in rebound margin (+18.6).
CONFERENCE LEADERS
McGowan ranks No. 1 in the Ohio Valley Conference in rebounds per game, o ensive rebounds per game, and total rebounds.
Eriel McKee ranks No. 1 in steals per game (3.2) and total steals (16). Darianne Seward ranks No. 1 in total assists (26).
Brooke Todd ranks No. 1 in total blocked shots (11).
Miranda Crockett ranks No. 1 in total eld goal attempts (76). As a team, Morehead State leads the OVC in rebounds per game, rebound margin, o ensive rebounds per game, total rebounds, blocked shots per game (6.0), and total blocked shots (30).

EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS
In a preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors representing each OVC institution, More- head State women's basketball was selected to make a fourth-place OVC  nish in 2017-18. In the OVC's fourth annual preseason poll conducted by 12 media members from across the conference, the Eagles were picked to  nish third. Last preseason, Morehead State was picked to finish 10th in the league, but ended the year in second place with an 11-5 record in the OVC.
FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME
Last season, Morehead State made its  rst appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament in program history. The competition marked the Eagles'  rst appearance in a national postseason tournament since playing in the Women's Basketball Invitational in 2009-10.
21-WIN SALUTE
With a 21-10 overall record in 2016-17, Morehead State won at least 20 games for the  rst time since 2010-11.
2016-17 NCAA DIVISION I TOP 10 DEFENSE
Last season, Morehead State ranked 6th in three-point  eld goal defense (.270) and 10th in blocked shots per game (5.8) among all NCAA Division I teams. As a junior, forward
Brooke Todd ranked 17th in blocked shots per game (2.7) and 20th in total blocks (83).

Eriel McKee became the 24th all-time member of Morehead State's 1,000-point club in 2016-17. With 797 career points,
Miranda Crockett looks to join the 1,000-point club this season.

Brooke Todd claimed sole possession of the third-best single-season mark in school history. Todd's career total of 178 ranks fourth all-time.
