COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Morehead State women's basketball (9-4) returns to action after the holiday break for a matchup at Tennessee Tech (3-8) to open Ohio Valley Conference play for both teams on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Eagles last took the court in a 66-56 upset bid that fell just short at No. 9 West Virginia on Dec. 21. Darianne Seward logged 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 steals in the loss, snapping a seven-game MSU win streak. Reigning OVC Newcomer of the Week Tierra McGowan snagged 11 rebounds and swatted 2 shots in a game-high 38 minutes.

Morehead State will be back on the OVC Digital Network for the first time since Nov. 30.

GAME NOTES

3 IN A ROW?
Morehead State is seeking its 26th all-time win over Tennessee Tech. The Eagles swept TTU by scores of 79-65 (at home) and 81-52 (on the road) last season.

CONFERENCE SZN
Morehead State will open Ohio Valley Conference play on the road for the third straight season.

Morehead State ends its non-conference slate with at least nine wins for the second year in a row.

On Dec. 27, Tierra McGowan was named OVC Newcomer of the Week for the fifth time this season.

Eriel McKee (39), Darianne Seward (34), and Miranda Crockett (31) rank first, second, and third respectively in the OVC in total steals. McKee's total ranks 16th in NCAA Division I.

With 196 career blocked shots, Brooke Todd needs just 10 more to surpass Tasha Gales (205) for the second- highest total in school history.
