MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State men's basketball (11-12, 7-3 Ohio Valley Conference) looks for their third straight victory when they host Murray State (12-12, 6-4) on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET.

Overall, the Eagles have won five of their last six games, seven of their last nine, and nine of their last 13 to pull within a game of .500 after starting the season at 2-8. They look to match their season-high three-game winning with a win and it would mark their second three-game winning streak in their last seven games.

At 7-3 in league play, they stand as the No. 3 seed in the OVC Tournament.

Senior forward DeJuan Marrero has double-doubles in five of his last six games. He has 12 double-doubles this season and 19 for his career. With 12 double-doubles, he leads the OVC and is tied for 20th in the country.

He leads the league with 3.3 offensive rebounds per game and his 8.6 rebounds rank fifth. In ten OVC games, he is averaging 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds, which ranks 15th and third in the league, respectively.

As a team, Morehead State has outrebounded opponents in 16 of 23 games and 13 of their last 15. In OVC play, they have won the rebounding battle in seven straight and eight of 10.

With 38.1 rebounds per game and a +5.7 rebounding margin, the Eagles lead the OVC.

With 81.5 points per game, the Eagles lead the OVC and rank 31st in the country. Their three-point field goal percentage (.385) ranks first in the OVC and their field goal percentage (.473) ranks third.

In their wins, they are averaging 91.0 points, while they are averaging 72.8 in their losses. They are 9-2 when scoring 80-plus points.

The contest will be the 158th between Morehead State and Murray State. The Racers lead the series 109-48 overall and the Eagles are 30-35 at home. Last season, the two teams split, with the Eagles falling at Murray State, 62-57, before winning in the OVC Tournament Quarterfinals, 75-66. The Racers had won seven straight meetings prior to the Eagles' win in the tourney. Morehead State's last victory against Murray State at Johnson Arena came in 2010 as the Eagles won, 75-65.

At halftime, Morehead State University Athletics will recognize the student-athletes that are members of the Ohio Valley Conference, Pioneer Football League and Morehead Spirit academic honor rolls. 33 student-athletes will be recognized for attaining a perfect 4.0GPA, while an additional 209 student-athletes will be recognized for attaining academic excellence in their respective fields. The OVC Medal of Honor Recipients earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters academic year.
