ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Morehead State beach volleyball captured the program's first ever win with a 4-1 victory over Huntingdon (Ala.) on Saturday.
The Eagles finished the final day of the Eckerd College Battle on the Bay, 1-1, dropping their match with No. 14 Florida Atlantic.
"This week has been a growing process for our team'" said head coach
Jaime Gordon. "All of our competition has been against teams with established beach programs, the majority of which have beach only players.
"The growth our players have seen since we started last week compared with how we finished up this tournament has been significant," Gordon added. "Putting together a string of strong performances for our first team win followed by a strong performance against a top 15 program was great to see."
