MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Former Morehead State volleyball standout Bailey Nichol has signed a contract to play for the Schwarz-Weiss Erfurt (SWE) Volley-Team in Erfurt, Germany.

"I am exciting about continuing to play volleyball at a higher level and getting a chance to see the world," said Nichol.

As a senior, she started 24 of 31 matches and led the team with 826 assists (8.69 per set), which ranked sixth in the OVC. She recorded double digit assists in 23 of 25 matches played and finished with 105 kills, while also accumulating 201 digs on the season.

She recorded the third triple-double of her career in the win at Eastern Illinois, recording a career-high 11 kills and 60 assists, to go along with 14 digs.

During her freshman campaign, she helped lead Morehead State to their fourth consecutive regular-season Ohio Valley Conference title with records of 27-8 overall, 15-1 in OVC play and 16-2 at home. The Eagles also won the league tournament and participated in its second-ever NCAA Tournament.

Nichol was named to the 2013 OVC All-Tournament Team after being moved into a starting role due to injury.

"It has been really great to have support from my family and friends, as well as the Morehead community," added Nichol.

Practices will start in August and the team begins competition in October.

Her sister, Valerie (Nichol), will be playing in Poland, just a little over four hours away from Erfurt.
