Morgan Treser named NWPL Defensive Player of the Week
BREMERTON, Wash. - The Northwest Premier League announced that Morgan Treser, who is competing for Seattle Stars FC, has been selected as the NWPL Defensive Player of the Week.

After an early goal, Treser helped her club hang on to a 1-0 win over the Washington Timbers. With the win, the Stars clinched the regular season title and home pitch advantage throughout the playoffs.

Her strong defensive performance came despite playing at less than 100 percent.

"Morgan played while she was sick Saturday against the Washington Timbers," said Stars head coach Chris Wells. "In the last ten minutes, we were out of subs and she wanted one, but Morgan pushed through it to help us maintain the one goal lead. With us getting the goal in the fourth minute, it was 86 minutes of hold-on and she was the key for us doing so."

Treser is entering her sophomore year with the Morehead State soccer program. She appeared in 19 matches, with 14 starts, during her freshman season.
