MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After finishing as the top collegiate runner at last week's Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational, Morehead State sophomore Farah Abdulkarim has been tabbed the OVC Men's co-Runner of the Week.

Abdulkarim covered the 8K course in Virginia in 24:50.4, which was the best of all college runners. He was only seconds behind the top finisher overall, but that was a VT alumni runner who did not count in the college standings.

Abdulkarim, who was an All-Southeast Region selection as a freshman last year, also paced the Eagles in the opening event two weeks ago at home.

The Eagles are now idle until they compete at the Foothills Invitational in Oxford, Ala., on Sept. 30.
