MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State led for over 70 minutes, but ultimately came away with a 1-1 draw versus Southeast Missouri on Friday night at Jayne Stadium. The contest marked the Eagles' third straight overtime match to open Ohio Valley Conference play, bringing Morehead State's record to 1-7-1 (0-2-1 OVC) on the season.

"Our kids worked their butts off," said head coach Warren Lipka. "They're putting everything out on the line for us. They're doing everything they can, and I don't know how much more I can ask from them. I can't be any prouder."

Junior Abby Timm, who received the starting nod at forward after playing a multitude of positions for the Eagles, recorded the first goal of the match, capitalizing on a solo breakaway in the 19th minute. The goal was not only Timm's first of the season, but her first score since a nine-goal freshman campaign that earned the Byron, Ill. native 2015 OVC Freshman of the Year honors.

"It felt great to get my first goal," Timm said. "I hope it just keeps going up from here."

Morehead State held a 1-0 lead until the final minute of regulation, when Southeast Missouri forward Lauren Kaempfe found the back of the net with only 37 seconds remaining. Each team fired three more shots over the two extra periods, but could not convert a potential game-winner.

Five yellow cards were drawn as both teams combined for 26 fouls on the night. Marisa Lavatori and Ashley Ritchie led the Eagles with two shots apiece, while Timm, Morgan Treser, Caitlyn Burdine, Samantha Damante, and Shelby Huddleston each logged one.

Morehead State is back in action on Sunday, celebrating senior day in a matchup with UT Martin (4-6-2, 2-1 OVC). The Eagles and Skyhawks are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
