CHARLESTON, Ill. – Heading into the second leg of its weekend road trip, Morehead State soccer (2-8-1, 1-3-1 Ohio Valley Conference) is set to take on Eastern Illinois (5-7-1, 0-4 OVC) on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

Coming off the Eagles' only conference loss in regulation last Friday at SIU Edwardsville, MSU head coach Warren Lipka looks to guide his team to its second league win in three matches.

"We need a result," Lipka said ahead of Sunday's competition.

Morehead State is led on the season by sophomore forward Ashley Ritchie, who has attempted 19 shots – 10 more than the next closest player. Richie's eight shots on target also tops the Eagles' offense, while her two goals equal the totals of midfielders Cara Maher and Morgan Treser.

Junior goalkeeper Michelle Washburn has lead the OVC in saves all season, grabbing a total of 68 for an average of 6.2 per game. The 5-foot-9 Georgetown, Ky. native recorded three saves in last Friday's loss to SIUE, facing 17 total shots from the Cougars.

Eastern Illinois holds a 12-8-3 edge in the all-time head-to-head series, but the Eagles have won the last three contests by a combined 7-0 margin. Morehead State defeated the Panthers 1-0 at Jayne Stadium in 2016.

Sunday's match will be broadcast live on the OVC Digital Network.
