MOREHEAD, Ky. -- While the Morehead State men's basketball Eagles are still searching for their first conference victory, they have been oh so close in all five games. The Eagles will shoot for that win again on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET at UT Martin.

Trailing by 14 at Southeast Missouri Thursday, the Eagles (4-12/0-5) rallied all the way back and had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer before falling 78-75. In their five league tilts, they have lost by a combined 26 points.

UT Martin (6-12/1-4) enters the weekend with four consecutive losses and is 5-3 at the Elam Center this year.

The game will be carried on WIVY-96.3 FM and MSUEagles.com and will be on the OVC Digital Network.

GAME NOTES

THE UT MARTIN SERIES

Morehead State leads its all-time series with the Skyhawks 32-16. UTM has claimed the last two meetings, including an 81-77 contest in overtime in Martin last season. In fact the last two regular season games taking place in Martin have ended in overtime wins for the Skyhawks.

THREE-POINT STREAK CONTINUES

Morehead State has made at least one three-pointer in 359 consecutive games, dating back to Feb. 13, 2007 when the Eagles had an 0-for-17 day versus Jacksonville State.

HARRIS HEATS UP

Junior forward Lamontray Harris is starting to put together games worthy of his preseason All-OVC selection by College Sports Madness. The Louisville native has averaged 16.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in the last three contests. He had his second double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) of the year at Southeast Missouri.

BACK TO BOARDING

Morehead State out-rebounded SIU Edwardsville 40-33 on Saturday and SEMO 36-30 Thursday following back-to-back games of being out-rebounded. The Eagles boast a plus-4.1 rebound margin.

ROAD WEARY

Morehead State is still searching for its first road victory of 2017-18, going 0-10. The Eagles have now dropped 12 consecutive games on the road.
