MURRAY, Ky. – The Morehead State soccer team fell 2-0 at Ohio Valley Conference foe Murray State on Friday afternoon.
The loss snapped the Eagles three-game winning streak and set them back to 5-12 overall and 4-5 in OVC play. The Racers improved to 10-3-1 overall and are 6-1 against conference competition.
Murray State's Rebecca Kubin scored goals in the 23rd and 52nd minutes to lead her team to the victory. Kubin also fired a match-high eight shots as the Racers outshot Morehead State 21-13.
Senior
Cara Maher led the Eagles in the shots taken and shots on goal categories firing four shot and having two stopped by the Murray State goalkeeper.
Racers' goalkeeper Alex Steigerwald picked up the victory in goal after making six saves to preserve a clean sheet.

Michelle Washburn came up on the losing end of the match after letting in two goals and making eight saves.
Morehead State returns to action on Sunday when it travels to UT Martin for its' 2018 regular-season finale. That match is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 p.m. ET.
