MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State soccer team wraps up its' 2018 regular season with a two-game road trip against Ohio Valley Conference foes Murray State and UT Martin.
 
Morehead State will play at Murray State on Friday evening before traveling to UT Martin Sunday afternoon.
 
The Eagles, who are 5-11 overall, hit the road riding a three-game winning streak and are currently tied for fifth in the OVC standings with in-state rival Eastern Kentucky with both having picked up 12 points. Wins over Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, and Jacksonville state have made up the team's recent triumphs on their way to improving a 1-4 conference start to an even 4-4.
 
Offensively, the tandem of senior forward Dani Wilson and freshman forward Colleen Swift have delivered four-of-six goals during Morehead State's winning streak. Wilson who was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 9, leads the team in goals scored with seven. Swift has found the back of the net in back-to-back games.
 
Senior Makenna Lavatori and Michelle Washburn have been Morehead State's calling card defensively. In goal, Washburn has shutout opponent's in two of the team's wins during the winning streak. Lavatori, who is the reigning OVC Defensive Player of the Week, has captained a stout Eagles' defensive back line. Lavatori also netted her first career goal – a game-winning goal – in her teams 3-1 win over Jacksonville State.
 
Murray State enters Friday's match ranked second in the OVC standings with a 6-2 record against conference opponents giving them 18 points in the standing.
 
UT Martin currently stands at 7-0-1 in the OVC and are atop the conference standings with 22 points.
 
The Eagles will kickoff against the Racers at 4:00 p.m. ET on Friday. On Sunday, Morehead State is scheduled to challenge the first-place Skyhawks at 3:00 p.m. ET. Live statistics will be available for both matches on msueagles.com
