MOREHEAD, Ky. –
After dropping their first Ohio Valley Conference match of the season, Morehead State volleyball treks to the Music City for a pair of road contests this weekend. The Eagles (12-5, 3-1 OVC) travel to Nashville to take on Belmont (0-16, 0-4) on Friday before traveling across town to take on Tennessee State (6-9, 4-0) on Saturday.

Through two weeks of conference play, Morehead State sits third in the league standings behind Austin Peay and Tennessee State. Overall, the Eagles are one of only three teams in the OVC that hold a winning record, joining Austin Peay (14-2) and Southeast Missouri (11-7).

Morehead State is continuing to shine on the defensive end, leading the OVC in four defensive categories. The Eagles lead the league while ranking 28th in the country in opponent hitting percentage, holding foes to a .159 mark. Morehead State also leads the league in opponent assists (10.31 per set), opponent kills (11.13 per set), and opponent service aces (0.80 per set).

The Eagle's defensive success begins at the net where the Eagles block turns away 2.26 shots per set, a mark that leads the OVC. As a team, Morehead State has blocked 138 total shots, paced by four Eagles who have recorded 35 or more blocks on the year. Senior middle blocker Maddie Fella leads the team with 56 blocks on the season with redshirt senior middle blocker Jessie Wachtman following close behind with 50 blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Lohmeier (39) and senior right-side hitter Jordan Jones (38) round out the team's top four blockers.

Behind the block, Morehead State's back row has dug up 902 total balls this season, averaging 14.79 digs per set. Five players on the squad have collected 100 or more digs, led by freshman libero Allison Whitten's 231 digs. In addition to the team's dig numbers, the Eagle back row has recorded a .956 reception percentage, committing just 49 errors in 1,123 attempts.

Offensively, Morehead State boasts four hitters with 100 or more terminations. Lohmeier leads the team, slamming home 201 kills while hitting .271. Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Rokey ranks second on the squad with 177 kills while Wachtman (148) and Jones (127) round out the group. On the season, the Eagles have recorded 787 kills, hitting at a .225 clip.

Redshirt sophomore setter Chandler Clark leads the team, ranking 36th in the nation with 647 total assists. She averages 10.61 assists per set, leading the Eagles who average 12.10 assists per set. Clark also ranks second on the team with 153 digs, having collected seven double-doubles on the year.
