RICHMOND, Ky. – In a classic rivalry matchup, the Morehead State men's basketball team came up just short in a 75-73 setback at Eastern Kentucky Saturday night.

The Eagles (6-19/2-12 OVC) had a chance to tie the game at 74 with two seconds left but missed the back end of a two-shot situation.
Djimon Henson's full court heave as the final horn sounded came up short.

The Eagles finished with four players in double figures, led by sophomore
Jordan Walker with 16 points. Junior guard A. J. Hicks dropped in 15. Freshman guard
De'Von Cooper came off the bench for 13, and freshman
Malek Green chipped in 10.

The Eagles trailed by as much as 11 in the first half but came back to take a halftime lead, 32-30. It marked the second straight game falling after leading after 20 minutes.

Nick Mayo led the Colonels (9-18/3-11 OVC) with 18 points before fouling out.

The Eagles shot 46 percent (23-of-50) for the night.

MSU held a 52-44 lead with 10:24 remaining but the hosts used an 11-0 run to retake the lead. Neither team led by more than four in the final eight minutes.

MSU next travels to Tennessee State on Thursday for an 8:30 p.m. ET game.
