RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State rifle team saved the best for last.
In their final 2017-18 match, the Eagles fired a school-record 4653 aggregate total at the NCAA qualifier match at Kentucky Saturday. They also established the school air rifle record with a 2351.
Freshman
Ryan Hinson set the tone in air rifle, firing a career-best 591. He also topped the Eagle contingent in smallbore with a 577. Senior
Joe Fischer closed his career by tying Hinson for smallbore team honors with a 577, his second-best total for the season.
Also on the air range, junior
Siarra Crum turned in a season-best 587. Sophomore
Karly Potts nailed down a 587 score as well. Junior
Brandon Bryer fashioned a 586, and
Alexa Potts carded a 582.
Senior
Seth Baker culminated his career with a 576 smallbore total and had 578 in air. Fischer and Baker totaled 578 in air, and sophomore
Jesse Moyer shot a 572 in smallbore and a 571 on the air range.
The match was also the finale for senior
Dan Hall, who shot a 575 in smallbore.
The 2017-18 season was one for the record books. Not only did the Eagles set and re-set school totals, they also finished the highest ever at the OVC Championships.
