Three home runs and another stellar pitching performance by senior pitcher Chelsea McManaway helped lift the Eagles to the shutout win.

McManaway gave up just one hit and struck out eight Scarlet Knights in her seventh start of the year. The Wellston, Ohio native picked up her sixth win of the year (6-1) and second complete-game shutout.

The homers were hit by seniors Taylor Wheeler, Hannah Murphy, and Robyn Leighton.

Wheeler began the game with a lead-off solo shot over the left field fence.  The shortstop went 2-for-3 from the plate with one RBI.

Freshman Paige Scruggs doubled two at-bats later to drive in Aubrey Bennett, who singled after the Wheeler home run, to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead after one inning. Scruggs collected her second RBI in the third inning with a sacrifice fly that pushed Taylor Wheeler across home plate.

Murphy's home run came in the fourth inning and was good for two runs, scoring herself and Leighton.

Leighton rounded out Morehead State's scoring with a solo homer in the top of the sixth.
