MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State softball dropped a pair of closely-contested games by final scores of 3-1 and 6-3 against Ohio Valley Conference adversary Austin Peay Friday afternoon at University Field.
The Eagles fell behind in both games and battled back to tie both games before seceding what became the game-winning runs in the late stages of the game.
"We're never going to give up," said head coach
David Williams following the losses. "I'm not happy with the losses, but the positive takeaway is that we did a really good job at executing our game plan at the plate by putting the ball in play."
Morehead State recorded 12 hits during the doubleheader. The Eagles dropped to 16-8 overall and 0-2 in OVC play, while Austin Peay improved to 17-8 and 2-0 in the OVC.
