MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Keystone State of Pennsylvania has produced many talented collegiate rifle shooters, and the tradition is set to continue when Pennsylvania natives Amber Schifano and Erin Diehl join the Morehead State program for the 2018-19 season. Both finalized National Letters of Intent this week.
Schifano is from Belleville, Pa., while Diehl hails from East Earl.

Sportsmen's Club. She joined the Palmyra Junior Rifle Club in 2017 and competed in the 4-H Rifle National Championships that year, as well as the American Smallbore Shooting Association National Championships and the British Junior National Shooting Championships in Bisley, England.
At Bisley, she received a bronze medal in three-position air rifle, and a silver medal in the sprint and shoot match. Her current high scores are 560 in smallbore and 564 in air rifle.
Schifano attends Mifflin County High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society. She is involved in various school, community and church activities and is the current President of the Mifflin County High School Key Club and class historian for her high school class all four years. In addition to rifle, she was a member of the field hockey and track teams and plays saxophone in the band.
Entering high school, Diehl began shooting with the school air rifle prone league. In her sophomore year, she joined the Palmyra Sportsmen Association Junior Rifle Team and began shooting competitive smallbore and air rifle. She has competed in numerous local, state and national level competitions, including CMP, NRA and USA Shooting Nationals.
In summer 2017, she also had the privilege of competing in Bisley, England in British Junior Shooting Championships with the Palmyra JRC team. At Bisley, Diehl took second place in the air rifle final on day one of the two-day competition. She finished in the top eight on day two, which also earned her a spot in the final. Her current personal bests are 572 in smallbore and 575 in air rifle.
Diehl attends Garden Spot Senior High School. She has been an honor roll student four years and distinguished honor roll her junior and senior years. She began shooting sporter air rifle at age 11.
