MOREHEAD, Ky. – Former Morehead State men's golfer Brad Martin is set to continue his professional career in the sport, joining Golf House Kentucky as the new director of operations for the family of organizations.
"Golf has been such a big part of my life," Martin said. "It's helped build relationships that will continue throughout the rest of my life. When I really sat down and thought about it, it's something I'm comfortable with and look forward to every day. When the right opportunity came along, I thought I could make an impact and shape my career even further."
Martin spent the past two and a half years as a tournament director for the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour in Auburn, Ala., but Kentucky always held "a special place" in the heart of the Lexington native. With his new role based in Louisville, Martin will manage various player development initiatives while assisting with extensive tournament programs and various communication and marketing channels for Golf House Kentucky.
"There are still (MSU instructors) I keep in touch with to this day," said Martin. "I have a close relationship with (former president) Dr. Wayne Andrews, who always seemed to be so positive and energetic, while being extremely involved in students' lives. I liked being in a family-first atmosphere where support staff really cared about my well-being."
Martin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus in marketing from the university in 2015. As a student-athlete, the former George Rogers Clark High School standout was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2013-14.
