MOREHEAD, Ky. – A new state sales tax change will affect single-event and season ticket prices for Morehead State Athletics, starting this fall.
The Kentucky Department of Revenue will now assess a six (6) percent sales tax on all ticket purchases to university sporting events across the Commonwealth.
The sales tax will be added to the value of the ticket and still reflect just one total price. Fans will not have to pay a separate fee. The new tax will not affect the price of parking, concessions or merchandise or any donations made in conjunction with the purchase of season tickets.
"While fans may see a slight increase in the price of tickets, we are fully committed to providing Morehead State fans with the best overall value when attending one of our events," said Director of Athletics
Brian Hutchinson. "We fully believe in our fans receiving the best experience and want them to know their importance to the overall success of our programs."
Single-game and season ticket sales for fall sports (football, volleyball, soccer) will begin soon.
