COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Morehead State soccer team fell to Ohio State 8-0 on Thursday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Field.
Morehead State trailed 3-0 at the half before conceding five second-half goals. Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper
Eva Helgadottir started and played the entire first half before giving way to senior goalkeeper
Michelle Washburn. Helgadottir made four saves in the first 45 minutes of action while Washburn made eight.
The Eagles' offense was stifled by the Buckeyes defense and were unable to get off any shots in the loss while Ohio State fired 37 shots with 20 on goal.
Morehead State will now return home to Jayne Stadium to face Kennesaw State on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
