TOLEDO, Ohio – After being named Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore outside hitter
Olivia Lohmeier uses a career-night to propel Morehead State to victory at the Blue and Gold Tournament. The Eagles (5-2) defeated host Toledo (1-5) in the night cap Friday night.
Morehead State took the match in four sets 25-16, 16-25, 25-22, and 25-18.
Lohmeier slammed home a career-high 21 winners on a season-high 28 attacks to lead the Eagles. She made just five errors on the evening, hitting .333 for the match. Lohmeier also added in three blocks and three digs in pacing the Eagles. Her 21 kills marked the most kills in a match since senior right-side hitter
Jordan Jones connected on 20 kills versus Jacksonville State last September.
Sophomore outside hitter
Lauren Rokey tied a season-high with 14 kills on 40 swings. Rokey added a pair of blocks and digs during the match. Redshirt senior
Jessie Wachtman fell a single termination shy of reaching double-digits, totaling nine to pair with three blocks on the night.
Redshirt sophomore setter
Chandler Clark tallied her fourth double-double of the season with 45 assists and 15 digs. She nearly accomplished the feat in the opening set, totaling 14 assists and nine digs in the opening frame. With 45 assists, Clark broke the 30 plus helpers mark for the fifth time this season.
Defensively, four Eagles reached double-digit digs on the evening. Freshman libero
Allison Whitten led the way, scooping up 16 digs, recording 10 or more digs for the sixth time this season. Clark (15), redshirt junior

Olivia Montelisciani (12) also recorded double-digits for Morehead State.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow morning, taking on Manhattan at 10 a.m. ET before taking on Duquesne at 5 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
