CLARKSVILLE, TENN. – The Morehead State Soccer team fell to Austin Peay 3-0 on Friday evening at Morgan Brothers Field.
The Governors took the lead on a goal by Annie McPhie in the 18
th minute and managed to hold the advantage the remaining 90 minutes thanks to a strong defensive effort that held the Eagles to just one shot on goal during the match.
Claire Lacrose and Delanie McKeon added goals in the second half for APSU.
Sophomore
Nicole Palmer led MSU with two shot attempts. In goal, freshman
Kayla Landman made five saves.
The Governors improved to 4-7-3 and evened their OVC record at 3-3-1.
Morehead State is now 4-11-1 and 2-5-1 in league play.
The Eagles return to action against Eastern Kentucky on Sunday for their final home match of the 2019 season. The team will honor its two seniors,
Ellie Weber and
Morgan Treser, with a ceremony that will begin 15 minutes prior to 2:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
