Women's Basketball Receives First-Place Vote; Tabbed Fourth by OVC Media
MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State Women's Basketball team received one first-place vote and was tabbed fourth in the 2019-20 Ohio Valley Conference Media Preseason Poll released by the league Friday afternoon.
 
Four-time defending OVC Tournament champion Belmont was selected first and received 11 first-place votes. Tennessee Tech claimed second with two first-place votes while UT Martin rounded out the top three. The Eagles and Skyhawks both received one first-place vote.
 
Morehead State finished second behind the Bruins in the final standings of the 2018-19 season after going 13-5 against conference opponents. The 13 league victories were tied for the second-most in program history.
 
Belmont senior forward Ellie Harmeyer was chosen by the media as the league's player of the year.
 
The OVC Media Poll and Preseason Player of the Year is voted on by 15 media members from around the conference.
