MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State rifle continued its winning ways Saturday, upending fellow Ohio Valley Conference foe Jacksonville State on the road.
The Eagles scored a 4,656 total, while the Gamecocks came in with a 4,638. The victory was the 10th consecutive shoulder-to-shoulder (versus just one other team at a site) match victory for the program.Â
The Eagles narrowly led by only five points (2,310-2,305) after Smallbore.
In Smallbore, freshman
Elizabeth Plecity led the Eagles with a career-high 583. Junior
Ryan Hinson came next with a 578, followed by senior
Alexa Potts who scored a 576.
The Air Rifle portion saw sophomore
Amber Schifano tie her season-high with a team-best 590. Sophomore
Erin Diehl posted a season-best 588 with Potts turning in a 586 total. Hinson rounded out the counters with a 582.
The Eagles are back in action at home with a pair of matches against OVC foe UT Martin Saturday and Sunday.
