Eagle Hoops Alum Mashour Ventures to France
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Former Morehead State men's basketball forward Karam Mashour has agreed to terms with the Gries/Oberhoffen basketball club in France.

The hoops team fields their competition in the Pro B-League. Gries is the city in which the team resides, approximately a 20-minute drive from the German border in the northeastern corner of the nation.

By adding Mashour, Oberhoffen will look to continue their winning tradition, having won two of the last four championships and advancing to the league's playoff semifinals last season.

Mashour, a native of Nazareth, Israel, heads to Europe after an extended professional stay in his homeland, most notably with the Bnei Hertzeliya club. He saw his most-lauded success with the conclusion of the 2016-17 season. Mashour averaged a double-double per game, 14.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest. These stats brought him honors for the All-Israeli League First Team, Israeli League All-Domestic Players Team, and Domestic Player of the Year awards.

Mashour's performance carried over into that year's FIBA Europe Cup, where, in nine games, he tabbed 15.3 points per tilt to go along with seven rebounds per game. Additionally, his time in his native country saw him win Israeli Premier League regular season and post season championships with the Maccabi Tel Aviv squad in 2017-18.

Mashour graduated from Morehead State University in May 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in business administration.

As a senior in blue & gold, Mashour averaged team-highs of 14.5 points (on a team-best 50 percent from the field) and 7.8 rebounds per game in Ohio Valley Conference action. For the 2014-15 season, he posted 20 double-figure performances, finishing the campaign with 10 consecutive double-figure logs in points. His career high in scoring came in the second round of that year's conference tournament. Mashour clocked in 25 points against UT Martin on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor, chipping in 7-of-8 charity tosses.

Mashour reached the double-figure plateau in rebounding six times on the season. His career high on the boards came on Feb. 5, 2015, when he cleaned the glass 14 times versus Tennessee State at Johnson Arena.

Mashour is one of 21 former Eagle men's basketball players to have played professionally since 2011 (asterisk denotes players who are still active):
