KENNESAW, Ga. – The Morehead State softball team fell 10-2 to Chattanooga in the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament at Bobbie Bailey Park on Sunday morning.
The Mocs used an offensive outburst comprised of 14 hits and two home runs to defeat the Eagles on the final day of the tournament.
Freshman left-handed pitcher
Lakyn Largent absorbed her first loss of the season in her second start of 2019. The lefty struck out three batters in four innings while allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits. Junior right-handed pitcher
Randi Hamilton saw two innings of relief action in the game and allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with one strikeout.
Both of the Eagles runs came in the fifth inning after three-straight walks allowed runners to get into scoring position. Junior infielder Chyenne Meyer, freshman infielder

Helyna Bissell walked the bases full with one out. Junior outfielder
Cassie Griffin kept the bases loaded as she reached on fielder's choice to set up senior outfielder
Aubrey Bennett for an RBI single that scored Slater. Junior outfielder
Allison Davis followed the Bennett RBI single with a walk to plate Bissell.
Right-hander Celie Hudson (2-0) picked up the win for Chattanooga as she allowed two runs on one hit and six walks.
Morehead State jumps back into action on Friday when they take on Mount St. Mary's (Md.) at 2:00 p.m. ET in the first game of the Eagle Round Robin hosted by Georgia Southern in Statesboro Ga.
