RICHMOND, Ky. – The Morehead State softball team dropped both games of a midweek Ohio Valley Conference matchup to Eastern Kentucky Wednesday afternoon at Gertrude Hood Field.
The Eagles were stifled at the plate in the first game as they fell 4-0. In game two, the Colonels jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and then added runs in the fifth and sixth frame to complete the 8-0 win in six innings.

Peyton Rose was the lone Eagle to score hits in both games as she went 2-for-4 combined during the twin bill.
Morehead State returns home for two OVC doubleheaders against Eastern Illinois and SIUE on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles will take on the Panthers on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. Morehead State will honor seniors
Aubrey Bennett and
Cheyenne Meyer prior to first pitch. Game two, which is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. ET first pitch, will be followed by an autograph session with the players and a free kid's clinic open to children in grades K-6.
Sunday's two-game slate with SIUE is scheduled to get underway at 12:00 p.m. ET.
