MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State softball team will travel to Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday for an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Gertrude Hood Field in Richmond beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET.
The Eagles (2-27, 0-8 OVC) dropped a pair of games to Belmont at home on Saturday by scores of 10-0 and 12-3. Morehead State went just 6-for-38 (.158) at the plate in is two games against the Bruins.
"We didn't get the results we wanted on Saturday against Belmont," said Eagles' head coach
Samantha Jones. "Our focus this week has been to really look to lock in at the plate and find ways to work counts to our advantage and make solid contact."
Eastern Kentucky (19-15, 6-4 OVC) enters the matchup coming off a split doubleheader with against Tennessee State on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.
In the series, the Colonels have won nine-straight games and hold a 50-25 series advantage. The Eagles last win over EKU came on March 28, 2015, in Richmond.
