MOREHEAD, Ky. – For the fifth consecutive season, at least five Morehead State baseball athletes have garnered nods on the All-Ohio Valley Conference teams.
 
Senior center-fielder Connor Pauly (First-Team), junior left-handed pitcher Dalton Stambaugh (First-Team), senior shortstop Reid Leonard (Second-Team), senior left-fielder Jake Hammon (Second-Team) and freshman right-handed pitcher Landon Weins (All-Freshman) all were honored.
 
Leonard is the first player in program history to be named to either the first or second team all four years of a career. Pauly is one of just two OVC players to repeat as a first-team selection after earning it also in 2018.
 
Pauly, from Glenview, Ill., ranks second in the league in hits (83) heading into the tournament, with the most of any player taking part in the event. He also leads Morehead State in home runs (11) and RBI (60). His run production ranks second in the conference, and he ranks fifth in total bases (133). Starting all 56 games, he has batted .342 with a team-high 26 multi-hit efforts and 16 multi-RBI efforts. He has recorded three or more hits 10 times. He earned OVC Player of the Week honors once this year.
 
Stambaugh, a native of Fredericktown, Ohio, ranks tied for second in the conference with seven pitching victories while ranking eighth with a 4.01 ERA. He ranks second in the circuit in strikeouts per game at 10.3, racking up 95 whiffs in a team-high 83 innings. In five separate starts, he recorded at least nine strikeouts. Stambaugh was honored as the OVC Pitcher of the Week following his two-hit shutout at regular-season champion Jacksonville State.
 
Leonard, from Glen Allen, Va., is the program career record holder in games played (230), at-bats (960), plate appearances, runs scored (212), hits (323), doubles (61) and singles (251). He ranks in the top five all-time in OVC history in hits. Leonard also carries the longest active hitting streak (17 games) among OVC players into postseason play. He bats .300 with a team-high 54 runs scored and is tied for the team lead with 14 doubles. In his 230 career games played, he has only failed to reached base in 20 games, or a 91 percent reaching base success rate.
 
Hammon, a product of Smyrna, Tenn., paces all Eagle batters with a .344 average to go along with a team-best 14 stolen bases on 15 attempts. Hammon ranks fourth in the conference with 77 hits, including tying Leonard for the team-high in doubles with 14. He has recorded a multi-hit game 24 times and has eight games with multiple RBI.
 
Weins, the newcomer from Frankton, Ind., has put together one of the most consistent freshman campaigns. He sports a 4-3 record with 43 strikeouts in 18 appearances. His 2.90 ERA ranks among the best of all freshmen in the OVC. Weins also has recorded two saves, both coming in the last two weekends of league action.
 
Morehead State enters the OVC Tournament having tied for second in the standings while garnering the No. 3 seed. The Eagles' 37-19 record is the best overall season mark in the league.
