MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against Ohio Valley Conference for Southeast Missouri on Friday evening at Southeast Softball Complex.
Morehead State (2-41, 0-20 OVC) dropped a 7-0 decision in game one before falling 9-0 in five innings in game two.
The Eagles were stifled at the plate by the Redhawks (41-15, 17-5 OVC)
pitching, mustering up just one hit when junior
Cassie Griffin doubled to lead off the third inning. It was Griffin's team-high 10th double of 2019.
Southeast's Haley Thogmartin recorded the win in game one while Rachel Rook tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts inn the second contest of the night.
Morehead State's freshman lefty
Lakyn Largent suffered the setback in game one while
Sara King was hung with the loss in game two.
The Eagles season will come to a close on Sunday when they visit Tennessee State in Nashville, Tenn.
