MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State's football program was recently honored with the Most Improved Academic Progress Rate Award for the Pioneer Football League by the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Director's Association (FCS ADA).
The NCAA's multi-year APR is part of the overall Division I academic reform effort. The APR provides a real-time look at and full assessment of each team's academic performance by tracking the progress of every student-athlete on scholarship each semester. It takes into account eligibility, retention and graduation.
The Eagle program improved 53 points from the 2016-17 APR reporting year to the 2017-18 year.
Now in its 25th year, the FCS ADA's mission is to enhance Football Championship Subdivision football. The FCS ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, which is in its 54th year.
