- For the first time since 2015, the Eagles will open their season at home. That season-opening match saw MSU fall 2-1 against Illinois-Chicago. Despite the loss, Morehead State regrouped and finished the season by making a run to the OVC Tournament semi-finals.
- Also, for the first time since 2001, Morehead State will play a regular-season home match away from Jayne Stadium. The Eagles will begin a new chapter on the MSU Recreation & Wellness Intramural Field.
- No matter the starting lineup, Morehead State will start a freshman goalkeeper in the season-opening match. Whether it be Grace Gaffney or Kayla Landman that gets the call, it will mark the first time a freshman has opened a season in goal since Hannah Seeman began the 2012 campaign in net against Akron. Eva Helgadottir, who is now playing professionally in Iceland, marked the most recent time a freshman keeper to made a start which came against Bowling Green in a 2-1 road win on Aug. 25, 2016.
