BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Morehead State Soccer team fell to Indiana, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
The loss drops MSU to 1-4 overall in 2019. IU improved to 2-3 with the win after losing back-to-back matches.
"We did not play with passion to compete today," said Morehead State head coach
Warren Lipka. "Fatigue from it being our first weekend of a Friday-Sunday game really showed today but we've still got to play with want and passion which we lacked today."
The Eagles faced an offensive onslaught from the Hoosiers as the home team fired off a season-high 26 shots with 13 being on target.
Indiana's Avery Lockwook and Chandra Davidson scored two goals each while Alaina Kalin added one.
Lockwood opened the scoring in the 31
st minute with a goal off an assist by Madeline Carlson. Four minutes later Davidson chipped in the Hoosiers second goal thanks to a pass from Nicolette Kapsalis.
Indiana took a 2-0 advantage into halftime before tacking on the final three goals in the final 45 minutes.
Davidson scored her second goal in the 60
th, Kalin's came in the 61
st, and Lockwood rounded out the Hoosiers' scoring with her second score in the 67
th minute.

Kayla Landman tied a career-high for saves as she turned back eight shots. Indiana goalie Bethany Kopel played the full 90 minutes to earn the clean sheet win.
