FINAL RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- In its first true head-to-head home match this season, Morehead State was edged in a tight battle by visiting Jacksonville State Saturday at Button Range.
The Eagles won the Air Rifle portion, 2339-2331, but the difference came in Smallbore where JSU prevailed by 35 points to claim the match, 4633-4606.
On the Air range, the Eagles had the top three finishers. Sophomore
Grace Weber totaled a 589 while fellow second-year shooter
Elizabeth Plecity followed suit with a 588. Junior
Erin Diehl was next with a 587. Junior
Amber Schifano was close behind at 584, while freshman
Andrew Morris carded a 577.
Smallbore saw junior
Katie Frye lead the way, notching a 574. Senior
Ryan Hinson was next with a 569, while Plecity and sophomore
Bryce Ward came in at 566.
Jacksonville States Mackenzie VanPatten led all shooters with a combined score of 1164. Plecity was the home team's best overall scorer at 1154.
MSU is back in action next weekend when UT Martin visits for scheduled matches Saturday and Sunday.Â
