MOREHEAD, Ky. – This is a new series leading up to the beginning of the coming sports seasons that allows our fans to get to know our student-athletes. A different player will be featured in a story on their responses to a questionnaire given to all of our teams.
This edition is on men's golf freshman Nolan Pierce.
Why did you choose to come to Morehead State?
Pierce: I got along really well with the guys on the team on my visit and had a great relationship with Coach Martin throughout the recruiting process. The program has a history of Canadian recruits and I was excited to continue that trend. The program here at Morehead State has been on the rise for a number of years now and I wanted to be a part of a winning atmosphere.
What is your favorite memory playing your sport?
Pierce: Winning the OFSAA Provincial (State) Team Championship in my junior year with the Sinclair Celtics.
What is your favorite song and which artist sings it?
Pierce: Come & Go – Juice WRLD
What is your favorite movie and/or TV show and why did you choose that movie?
Pierce: I'd say my favorite TV Show would either have to be Kingdom or Outer Banks. With just about nothing to do during COVID-19 we watched a lot of Netflix and these were definitely two of the best choices.
What is your favorite restaurant to eat at and what is your go-to meal there?
Pierce: Tim Hortons – Farmers Breakfast Wrap
If you could have one superpower, what would that be and why?
Pierce: The ability to fly so that I'd be able to go back and hang out with friends and family back home anytime.
Who is your favorite professional athlete and what makes them your favorite?
Pierce: Being a golfer, it would be hard not to say Tiger Woods. He continues to dominate the game after years of facing doubt and hate from much of the golf world. Definitely one of the hardest working athletes of all time.
What is your favorite spot to go to on campus or in town/region?
Pierce: Cave Run Lake
If you could time travel to any year/time period, what would you choose and why?
Pierce: I'd definitely go back about 10-15 years. Going back to being a kid and getting to relive all the fun experiences along the way. Growing up in Canada, playing minor hockey were memories that will last a lifetime and getting to go through that again with all my buddies would be very cool.
